Summer Instagram Round Up

October is here which means summer has come to an end! It also means that it's time to start putting away our summer outfits and break out the sweaters and OTK boots (I'm not complaining one bit!! ) My summer wardrobe this year consisted of lots of colorful tops, ripped denim, and fun shoes! I had so much fun dressing for this summer, but I am ready for the temperatures to start cooling down!!

I have rounded up some of my favorite Summer OOTDs below and I'm already thinking about how I'm going to transition some of these pieces into fall! So grab a PSL (or your Fall drink of choice), light your favorite Fall candle and properly wave summer goodbye and enjoy my summer wardrobe roundup!

A couple of years ago some of our college friends made a powerpoint presentation for us on the reasons why we should move to Houston. It was really well thought out and it almost convinced us, but at the time my job was in Central Texas.

Fast forward a couple of years and we have spend a lot of time visiting our friends Aaron and Molly and hanging out in the Houston area. Houston has always been good to us, and some of the most memorable nights has been spent in Houston along with a few of our best friends. Houston has such a special place in our hearts that we even took our engagement pictures there.

The past couple of days Hurricane Harvey has done a lot of damage to the Texas Gulf coast and to the city of Houston. Our fellow Texans are hurting at this time and they need all the help they can get. Below I have a couple of ways you can help the people affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Dress |  Shoes |  Sunglasses |  Cuff |

Today is the last day of July which is also the last day of my birthday month! This year I turned 27 and officially entered my late 20s! I decided to write a list of the 27 things I have learned in my 27 years, and what I am looking forward to this year.

27 Things i've learned in my 27 years:

1) You don't have to fit a mold, being unique is way more fun.

2) Do what makes you happy, and that doesn't have to be just one thing.

3) Sports have a special way to break your heart, but they can also bring immense joy.

4) There is such thing as being too nice, be nice but don't let people walk all over you.

5) Don't let society harden you up.

6) People are going to judge if you do or if you don't, so make them worth their while :)

7) Being interested in fashion doesn't make you superficial, people can be multifaceted, fashion is just one of your many layers.

8) You don't have to have everything figured out, a little mystery is a good thing.

9) You don't have to follow someone else timeline, everything happens at different time for different people.

10) You're never too old to try/start something new.

11) If you are the smartest person in the room, you're in the wrong room.

12) Even if you don't think you're qualified go for it! You might surprise yourself.

13) Do things for yourself, not for the praise of other people.

14) Travel as often as you can, but also value your down time.

15) When it comes to food; try everything once. If you don't like it at least you can say you tried it.

16) It's always great to have conversations with people with opposite views, you can always learn something.

17) We don't always get to choose our family; but God makes us part of our families for a reason.

18) Always work hard, it will pay off when you least expect it.

19) Make an effort to keep in touch with friends, it doesn't matter if they live down the street or across the world.

20) Marry a man that makes you laugh even when you're mad.

21) Don't compare yourself to others, everyone's situations are different. If you compare yourself to others you're never going to be good enough.

22) It is ok to get mad, but don't hold on to that anger. If you're upset take a couple of minutes to be upset and then let it go!

23) Don't let what others think of you stop you from doing something you're passionate about.

24) Find a hobby or a creative outlet, something that helps you escape the stress of adulthood.

25) Always say please and thank you, mom was right those three words can go far.

26) Be proud of where you came from, it has made you who you are.

27) A great outfit can turn your day around!

This year I am looking forward to traveling a lot more, and spending time with my family!

I hope y'all enjoyed this post, it is different from my usual content but I had so much fun writing it!! :)

Embroidered Details

Every season there is one trend that I am obsessed with since the beginning, and this summer that trend was embroidered clothing, shoes, and accessories. There is something about embroidery that takes a piece to the next level. This is also a trend I believe will carry over well into the Fall and Winter.

I have rounded up my favorite embroidered items under $50 and a lot of them are easy to transition into the Fall!!

Summer Airport Style

Summer is here which for a lot of people means the start of the travel season! Dressing for the airport can be tricky, specially during the summer. I always have a hard time when deciding what to wear to the airport, I want to be comfortable but also look cute (most of the time comfort wins over cuteness)

One of the things I've learned about dressing for the airport is that you can look put together and still be comfortable. The trick to dress for the airport during the summer is to wear layers, layering a cardigan or a moto jacket over a cute outfit can keep you warm during your flight and when you walk out of the airport you won't be burning up!

Below I have rounded up some of my favorite airport outfits, add a cute jacket or duster and you are ready for take off!

OTS Tops Under $50

One of my favorite trends this summer is off the shoulder tops! I feel like stores have stepped up their game when it comes to OTS tops, there are so many styles and prints to choose from and they don't break the bank. This is a trend that can be dressed up or down depending on the accessories you pair it with, and with Texas weather heating up it is the perfect piece of clothing to stay cool this summer.

I rounded up some of my favorite OTS tops that I have been wearing lately and they are all under $50!

Traveling to: San Francisco

Around Valentine's Day every year my husband and I take a trip to Las Vegas, this year we decided to go to San Francisco first and then drive to Vegas (longest 9hr drive of my life!) The only thing to see between San Francisco and Vegas is the "World's Largest Thermometer" and I was asleep for that part! Although the road trip part of our trip was not my favorite, San Francisco was amazing!! It was my first time visiting SF and I can't wait to go back!

Although we were only there for 3 days we got to do most of the touristy things we wanted to do! The only thing that we didn't get to do was to visit Alcatraz, but it is on our of things to do for next time!

My Favorite part of the trip was getting to see the Golden Gate Bridge, pictures don't do it justice!!

If you want to see more pictures from our trip to SF keep on reading!!

Golden Gate Bridge:

You can't go to San Francisco and not visit the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, we went to see it about two hours before it closed so it wasn't super packed!

Baker Beach:

Baker Beach had some amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge! You can actually bring a picnic basket and watch the sunset from here! It is amazing and free!

Ferry Building/Coi Tower:

Lombard Street:

Lombard Street is known as the "Crookedest Street in the World", we drove down the street and walked up and down the street. It was so much fun!

Fisherman's Wharf:

Ghirardelli Square:

Who doesn't love chocolate and pretty views?!

SF Cable Cars:

We actually took the cable car from Fisherman's Wharf to union square. It was so much fun and you great views along the way!

Mr. Holme's Bakehouse:

I'm not going to lie I actually saw a picture of this place on Instagram and wanted to go because it looked really cool, and I do not regret it because all the pastries were so delicious!!

Make sure to get there early because pastries sell out fast and as soon as they are sold out they close!

The Painted Ladies:

This is not the house from full house like everyone thinks, the house from the show is actually a couple of streets down. The painted ladies were in a couple of scenes in the show but it is not the house where they lived. You can learn more about the Painted Ladies here.

16th Avenue Tiled Steps:

These mosaic steps were just waiting to be photographed! There are 163 steps total and at the top is the beginning of Grand View Park, which overlooks the whole city! For more history on the steps click here.

Grand View Park:

San Francisco was an amazing place to visit, I want to go back soon to do all the things we didn't get to do and of course to catch a baseball game at AT&T Park!!
