I shared a couple of "dupes" over on my Instagram stories today (@thetechionista), and I figured I would shared them here on the blog in case you wanted to shop them all in one place!
Let me know if this kind of post is something you would like to keep seeing in the future!
The weather is finally cooling off in most places and it is officially sweater weather season! Well in Texas is sweater weather in the morning and sweating weather in the afternoon!
Like most people I love a cute sweater, but lately I feel like everyone is coming out with the same print/styles/colors and it can be overwhelming. I decided to round up my favorite budget friendly sweaters for the Fall season!
Just in case you have been avoiding Instagram for the past week (Or are anything like my husband and can't seem to work it...), you might not know that the #NSale started on July 12th and it opens to the public on July 19th (tomorrow, yay!)!
Much like every other girl on IG, I have always looked forward to July because of the #NSale. This year however, I'll admit I was a little disappointed. The clothes and accessories are gorgeous, of course, but I felt like I was having deja vu, having seen most of the items included in the sale in years prior.
Don't get me wrong I LOVE Nordstrom, I probably spend way too much money there (the free shipping gets me every time!!) but, after taking a look at my IG feed/Closet I realized I own a lot of the items that are on sale this year. This can also be taken as a positive, these items have been staples in my closet for a while now, so it really attests to the quality and durability of their clothing.
Here's a couple of items that I have bought in prior years that are part of this year's sale!
Steve Madden Boots: I got this OTK boots two years ago during the sale and the chunky heel makes them super comfortable! This year's version has an elastic band on the back which prevents them from falling down, but that seems to be the only difference I could find.
Tory Burch Boots: I got this about 4 years ago, this year's version is a little darker brown.
Spanx Faux Leather Leggings: There's not much I can say about this leggings other than they 100% live up to the hype! I might pick up another pair this year.
Madewell Hat: This hat! I picked up the gray version two years ago and I love how structured it is!
Blank NYC Jacket: The perfect suede jacket, a little cropped and I love to wear it when I travel!
Blank NYC Jacket: This is the same version as the jacket above but in the leather version.
With all of that being said there are a couple of things I want to get when the sale opens to the public tomorrow - these boots, these booties, this jacket (maybe!).
Are y'all getting anything from the sale? Leave your thoughts (And #NSale wants!) in the comments below!
I know there is a lot of content going around about the #NSale, so I hope y'all enjoy my take on this year's sale.
Sweaters are one of my favorite pieces of clothing, they can be dressed up or down and you're always cozy when you're wearing them! As much as I love my sweaters I like them to have something that makes them different, and this sweater I wore last week has the perfect lace up back detail to make it standout.
Trendy sweaters right now have a lot of sleeve details, but this one caught my eye because it looks like a regular sweater until you turn around and have some really cool lace up detail! My sweater is currently on sale for under $30 and my booties are on sale for under $15! The coolest part of the booties is that they have perforated stars all over the bootie.
This could be a great look to wear to a casual Thanksgiving dinner :)
Summertime is here and with that it comes all the fun summer trends! Rocking the latest trends doesn't mean spending a fortune, I have rounded up some of my favorite trends for this summer and some alternatives that don't break the bank!!
It finally feels like Fall in Texas!!! It was in the 50s this morning and I loved it! Fall is one of my favorite seasons; not only because you don't melt like a popsicle when you walk outside, but also Fall fashion is so versatile that switching a couple of accessories can change up your whole look!
I put that to the test by styling this gorgeous burgundy dress 3 different ways!
Outfit #1: I never thought I would jump on the choker trend, but I was wrong! I found this choker at Charlotte Russe a couple of weeks ago for $5 and it adds the perfect amount of fall to this dress. This is a very monochromatic look which allows the shoes to be the focal point! Can we just talk about how cute the shoes are??? The fringe in the back of the shoes adds the perfect finishing touch to the outfit.
Outfit#2: I traded the choker for a statement necklace, the shoes for a pair of OTK books, and the purse for a gold envelope clutch; this made the whole outfit feel more fall appropriate and versatile to wear for a night out when the temperatures start to drop!
Outfit #3: I just added a faux fur vest to take this look to another level! If you are not a fan of faux fur vest just add a black suede vest and it would look equally stunning!!
I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend and enjoyed this post!
As much as I love trendy outfits I love comfort even more! But just because you want to be comfortable it doesn't mean that you can't look put together! Lately my go to outfit has been jeans and a t-shirt, always paired with cute jewelry and stand out shoes. I got these BCBG sandals during Labor day weekend for $14.99 and they are a dupe to the Valentino Rockstud sandals. I love how the accessories complete this outfit, the white t-shirt is the perfect blank canvas for the tan tones in the accessories!
Since it is still in the mid 90s in Texas, this is as fall as my outfits get right now! In a couple of weeks when the temperature drops here in Texas and we get some cooler weather I will be wearing this t-shirt with a knit sweater and some OTK boots.
I hope you enjoyed this post and have a wonderful week ahead!!
September has arrived!!!! Which means fall clothes are starting to peak through in your closet!
A couple of weeks ago I was visiting charming charlie's (aka OCD heaven) when i came across the perfect flowy top!!! The burnt orange hue is the perfect for the fall and the airiness reminds me of a late summer sunset. I styled this orange top two different ways; how to wear now and later into the fall.
Wear Now: I paired this pretty top with some jean shorts and gladiator sandals! I had been looking for the perfect gladiator sandals since the end of the summer last year and I finally found them! The sandals give this top a summery feel without being too summer! I accessorized with one of my favorite necklaces from the new Kendra Scott fall collection!
Wear Later: At first I was a little worried that the black and orange combo was too Halloween, but the leather leggings and the OTK boots gave it an effortlessly edgy look! This hat was one of my favorite purchases from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, the stitching on the edge is so beautiful!! Can we take a minute to appreciate this Kendra Scott Necklace??? It is probably my favorite statement necklace that I own!! (and I own quite a few of them!!)
I hope y'all enjoyed this post and have a wonderful weekend!!
